EDCTP Explainer Video

EDCTP Explainer Video

The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) is an innovative public partnership between the European Union (EU), Norway, Switzerland and developing countries and other donors, as well as the pharmaceutical industry, to alleviate the health and economic burden of infectious diseases in Africa.
Established in 2003 with the support of the EU, EDCTP is committed to supporting high-quality clinical research that accelerates the development of medical interventions that have the potential to make a real difference to the lives of millions of people across sub-Saharan Africa.
The programme is one of the few initiatives to develop a partnership with African scientists by creating opportunities for ownership and leadership by those working on the ground in disease-endemic countries. Through its collaborative approach, EDCTP supports African researchers to establish their own networks.

What We Did

Based on the scripts and graphs provided by our Client, we created two animated motion graphics style videos to illustrate the EDCTP programme and explain who they are and what they do. We managed the whole project including storyboarding, voice over, animation, Sound FX and video editing.

Our Roadmap video opened a special session of the Virtual Global Forum on TB vaccines with more than 250 participants that involved researchers, developers, funders, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

The Goal

For the first video, the goal was to create a corporate animated motion graphic style video to illustrate the EDCTP programme with a high visual impact. For the second video, the goal was to create an animated explainer video to illustrate the EDCTP TB vaccine R&D roadmap that takes the viewer through the main points of the roadmap.

The Challenge

The Global TB vaccine R&D Roadmap was launched by EDCTP and the Amsterdam Institute of Global Health and Development (AIGHD) at a Virtual Global Forum on TB vaccines. Our deadline was very tight to deliver the final video for the launch on the set date of the conference.
